Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Joe D'Amico
Dr. Joe D'Amico is the owner of the Waynesville Veterinary Hospital, which opened it's doors in 1981. He received his veterinary degree from The Ohio State University in 1979. Prior to that, his undergraduate degree in microbiology was also attained at OSU. Dr. D'Amico has been a lifelong resident of the Miami Valley and is proud to provide top notch care to his patients. Professionally, Dr. D'Amico has a strong interest in senior and geriatric care. The increasing use of imaging modalities, including ultrasound and endoscopy, have become exciting ways to enhance senior care and diagnostics. Dr. D'Amico and his wife, Dee, have two children: Brian, residing in Colorado Springs, and Staci, living and working in Kettering. The D'Amicos have an australian shepherd puppy named Susie. When not at work, Dr. D'Amico enjoys traveling, time with family and is a Civil War enthusiast.
Dr. Dave Studzinski
Dr. Studzinski grew up in Dayton and attended Alter High School. He is a graduate of Wright State University and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been employed as a veterinarian with the Waynesville Veterinary Hospital since 1990. Prior to that, Dr. Dave worked at the practice for 7 years while attending college and veterinary school. He now resides in Springboro with his wife, Stacy. They have three children: Kelsey, DJ and Travis. Dr. Studzinski enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but especially likes the team oriented approach that is present at the Waynesville Veterinary Hospital. He has special interests in ultrasonography and endoscopy. When Dr. Dave is not working, he likes to spend his time fishing for striped bass or trout in Tennessee. Although some people might describe his interest in fishing as obsessive, he prefers the term "passionate". Dr. Studzinski is also an avid photographer. His work has typically concentrated on sports (especially ice hockey) and nature shots while out on the water. The Studzinskis have a golden retriever, Ruby, who is an energetic and enthusiastic swimmer and dock jumper.
Dr. Ruth Miller
Dr. Miller graduated from Miami University in 1982 with a degree in Philosophy and from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. When she joined the Waynesville Veterinary Hospital, she brought with her 25 years of practice experience. Her specialties include laser surgeries, soft tissue surgeries and orthopedic cases. Dr. Miller trains dogs to compete in agility and spends a lot of time hiking and walking. She enjoys gardening and antiquing as well. She has 2 dogs; Cari a Corgi, and Nimoy, a Canaan Dog, as well as 2 beautiful cats.
Dr. AJ Iwasko
Dr. Iwasko is a 2013 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined our veterinary team July 2015. AJ hails from Springboro, OH, graduating from Springboro High School, and also received his undergraduate degree from Wright State University. While at OSU, AJ worked at the WVH and was mentored by Drs. D'Amico and Studzinski. His professional interests include general orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, reproductive medicine, and dentistry. In all disciplines, AJ strives to achieve a cutting edge in veterinary practice. His free time is spent enjoying free time with family and friends, hiking with his Doberman, Ruger, and his new rescued lab cross, Raleigh. He is an avid ice hockey fan and a diehard Ohio State Buckeye fan.
Dr. Christy Susec
Dr. Susec graduated in 1995 from Denison University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2000. Previous to attaining her DVM, Dr. Susec interned with Drs. D'Amico and Studzinski for several years. Her focus is primarily on preventative medicine, as she enjoys following a pet from puppy/kittenhood to adulthood. She is married with three daughters, and keeps a very busy schedule. If she can find the time, Dr. Christy loves to read and is active in her church as well. Her four legged kids include Horton, a standard poodle and Foo, a shih tzu, two cats: Luna and Spooky, and two ferrets, two guinnea pigs, and a rose breasted cockatiel.
